Super Nutrients
Aug 15, 2023
Unfortunately, with the Standard American Diet (SAD) we don't get all the vitamins & nutrients that our bodies need to promote health, prevent disease and keep us from aging. If you are eating the SAD diet, you may want to consider supplementation.
The best way to get in the nutrients that our bodies need is through whole, healthy food. Here is a list of 10 super nutrients and the food that will provide those nutrients.
- Vitamin D - helps to combat almost every major form of disease including heart disease and cancer. Vitamin D is best from the sun, but you can also get vitamin D from the following foods: wild caught salmon, cod, egg yolks & white tuna
- Vitamin C - helps support immunity. Vitamin C foods include red, yellow and green bell peppers, citrus fruits, strawberries, broccoli & kiwi
- Folic Acid - helps with fetal development. Folic acid can be found in foods like cooked spinach, kidney beans, broccoli and asparagus
- Selenium - helps with thyroid health. Foods containing selenium include sardines, Brazil nuts, white tuna & skinless turkey breast
- Vitamin E - helps with vision & blood. Vitamin E foods include raw almonds, extra virgin olive oil, sunflower seeds & blueberries
- Lycopene - helps with prostate health and includes the following foods: tomato sauce, watermelon, pink grapefruit
- Lutein/Zeaxanthin - support vision & eye health. Foods include kale, spinach, collard & turnip greens, broccoli & peas
- Alpha-Carotene - provides antioxidants that fight against disease like cardiovascular disease & cancer. Foods with alpha-carotene include pumpkin, carrots, butternut squash & collard greens
- Glutathione - helps with gut health. Foods with glutathione include asparagus, watermelon, avocados, walnuts & broccoli
- Fiber - helps maintain gut health by promoting regular bowel movements - Fiber foods include black beans, pinto beans, lentils, whole grains & raspberries
As you can see, if you eat a wide variety of foods, you will have no trouble getting all the vitamins & nutrients your body needs. It just takes a little planning and preparation.
Staying away from foods that don't add nutritional value is key. These foods can include pre-packaged, processed & sugar laden foods. To find out if sugar is one of those foods that has a hold on you, take the Sugar Struggle Quiz.

As a Functional Diagnostic Nutritional Practitioner, I run functional lab work to help identify HIDDEN stressors and dysfunctions that are downgrading health and creating or contributing toĀ Metabolic Chaosā„¢, which describes what's going on inside that is producing unwanted symptoms.
Once healing opportunities are identified through carefully selected labs and a thorough history, only then can individualized, time-honored natural protocols be recommended that will change how well the body functions. When improvements are made, true healing occurs.
I am opening up 5 coaching opportunities at the end of August, at the lowest cost possible.
I don't want you to miss this healing opportunity.
