We have both Sympathetic vs. parasympathetic states:
- Sympathetic (fight or flight) which increase cravings, restlessness & irritability
- Parasympathetic (rest & digest) – which creates calm, satisfied and grounded
Emotional eating often happens when the sympathetic nervous system is dominant.
