Based on Your Results, Sugar Doesn't Have A Hold on You But...
It's important to understand the side affects of consuming too much sugar.
Sugar could be the reason that you're feeling lethargic, have brain fog, and can't lose weight. In fact, studies show that sugar makes you instantly dumber. Studies show that a diet of high-fat and high-sugar can actually change your brain chemistry, which then leads to depression and dementia.
Sugar also causes your skin to sag when excess fructose and glucose enter the body and damage your collagen and elastin, which are two compounds that keep your skin tight and plump. Additionally, excessive sugar can store fat around your belly. Within 24 hours of eating fructose, your body is flooded with elevated levels of triglycerides, which are fatty deposits in your blood. Our bodies need triglycerides. However, when it's hit with high doses of fructose, the liver responds by pumping out more triglycerides.
Sugar can be so hard to give up because of its addictive properties. Research shows that sugar is as addictive as any other drug. But there are things that you can do when giving up sugar, so that you don't have to deal with crazy cravings and painful withdrawals. It could simply mean that you need more fiber in your diet, you may need more magnesium, or you may need more protein.
It is possible to give up sugar, it just takes some work.
Here are three easy ways to get you started.
- Replace sugary sports drinks, soda and juices with naturally sweetened water, teas or milk.
- Switch out candies, cookies, and cakes with wholesome snacks and fruits (apples with almond butter, peaches and plain yogurt, whole wheat or rice crackers and cheese).
- Find products with less than five ingredients and zero sugar.
